As you have seen on Instagram, I’ve embarked a new service to help slow-businesses navigate their businesses especially when it is so slow… It feels like nothing you do is picking up on the income you desire.

To be honest, I did not see this coming either because I’ve been focused one day at a time! In this writing, I want to share how I came to offer this new service; pivoting SLC to help others. To speak life and spark joy in your creative journey.

As you know, I took a pause on Procreate Studio since the beginning of 2024. The plan was to move into my new home before starting new content revolving around not only my art but also the business I’ve started. However, the process of moving into the new house has been delayed, and we couldn’t move in within Q1. Now, everything is pushed back.

Some days, I feel disappointed, as if my life and income are on hold. There’s not much I can do, but changing my mindset to focus on other areas work.

Following my Instagram, you might have noticed that I haven’t been posting much new content lately. In fact, I’d say about 60% of my posts are repurposed from 2021! After cutting back on content creation, I’ve found more time for work outside of SLC. This has allowed me to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, join community gatherings, and prioritize church activities. I even started serving in church, something I had procrastinated on because I wasn’t allocating time for community.

As a solo entrepreneur, I often kept myself buried in to-do lists. Choosing to prioritize people and community took some time, but it has been incredibly rewarding. Of course, this shift also means I’m not generating as much income.

So How?!

I took on more hours for part time with heartwork and said yes to a pop-up opportunity with byhands.sg. Despite all this, I did another unexpected decision to stop my physical sales online as it was impacting my emotions. The more hurried I want to clear my inventory, the more anxious I was feeling. Thus I took a plunge to stop thinking about it by taking it out of sight.

I am glad it helped.

Least now I don’t have to over worry about my stocks online and I can be at peace with my current inventory. Most importantly I feel okay to move away from striving to sell them.

Do this exercise: Check out the list that reflects you most. Then, identify which is the top 5. These could most likely be the priority of your core motivator to how you operate in your business.

Knowing that not every business is the same. There is an unique taste to the dishes you’re bringing to the table. So what’s cooking? It is your core values that’s stirring the ingredients you currently have. How you present them will be how you want you audience to eat.

In my Christian faith, doing this work is about bringing people into His Kingdom. God brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me is love. So, love is what I want to give back. I hope that beyond striving to survive, you’ll be surrounded by love to keep doing what you’re called to do.
