To the mothers that are not my mom.

“You are a woman, whether married, single or without a physical children, there is a maternal spirit within your outmost nature. It is a spiritual motherhood given to you by God Himself; an essential part of His plan for reproducing His heart to the next generation.”

I’ve always admired families completed with a mom. Thankfully there was no bitterness about not having her staying in the family with us. These are situations in life that is out of my control and I could only impact the choices I made for myself.

In my last twenty years, I have met many ‘mothers’ that in different seasons; filling in the void that my own mom could not. I counted these moments my blessings and how God has loved me. He has significantly showered me with love through the hearts of these women. They are friends who check in on me, making sure I’m alright. Aunties and grandma that dote me with food and had no hesitation to call me home. Whenever I am with them, my heart grew with more with intentions.

a mother holds an atmosphere with other women so that the spirit of God is known on earth.

Though these women are not my mom, they are mothers of someone too. Which in turn gave me meaning of what it means to have a spiritual mother that nurtures with empathy and for the love of God wants the best for me.

There are different personality in motherhood, they are unique values that imparts into a generation of new rising women. In their stories and experiences are faith-filled stories to propel our next generation into their purpose God intended.

One of the greatest faith that was shared with me was the discipline of a praying life. I would not have know to take my prayer life so fervently without the testimonies of these believing women.

“And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45
