a women’s worth.
Whether you’re single, married or have children. The roles of a woman are greatly expandable. Thus, you and I need more grace than ever to be able to live up and love well as women of this generation. While the world is busy telling us what we should be, I believe, our Father in heaven just wants us to recognise ourselves as His own, beloved daughters. Equal to man, made in God’s image.
God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him’… Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. Genesis 2:18,22
Let’s look at the words HELPER SUITABLE
Suitable is from the Hebrew word, “neged” (neh’-ghed), which means, “ in front of, in sight of, opposite to”. It also indicates this “suitable” person is conspicuous, vigorous, a leader, effective, to stand boldly out, explain, praise, expound, expose, plainly profess, report, tell, and utter. This uneventful word, “suitable” doesn’t possess a lot of class in itself, but when you look at the meaning God gave the woman, that changes everything! She was equal to him, opposite of him, able to help, a companion, one who would speak up and advise, and face the joys and sorrows of life together and complete each other. Each one had a mind to think, a heart to feel, and a spirit that would live forever.
It gets better. Look at the word helper!
Too often, the thought of a helper is someone less than the other, such as an unskilled worker who helps a skilled one. Or, one who is less in status or education than the one being helped. Often a woman’s role has been related to a subservient role to the man. Not so in God’s created order. A woman is a helper, but so is God.
God – The word “helper” (the Hebrew is “ezer,” a help, helper), it is the same word used of God 66 times in Scripture. This “ezer” (pronounced “ay-zer”) speaks of God’s strength, power, and protection, help, and being a rescuer.
Eliezer – The name of the son of Moses was called Eliezer (my God is helper – “Eli – my God; Ezer – helper). “My father’s God was my helper; he saved me from the sword of Pharoah.” Exodus 18:4 Here the word “helper” references God.
Ebenezer – The prophet Samuel raised a stone monument, the Stone of Help because the Lord had helped them win a victory over their enemies (1 Samuel 7:12).
The Holy Spirit, described by Jesus as a “helper.” And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. John 14:16, 17
The people proclaimed God, their help in ages past. God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

It is affirmative that Eve was made equal in God’s image. Well, Adam might have blamed Eve for taking the fruit, but both were punished and banished from the Garden of Eden. Sounds fair? Though I do get a little angry, wondering why Adam did not own up to it. Instead, he cowardly pointed at Eve. When in fact, he could have said no, corrected her just as what God has ordered. So that’s marriage lesson 101, it is important to have a partner that speaks life and lifts you up with grace. Don’t let him blame you for everything.
Let’s jump back to the word, in Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers;”
This is a discord that the serpent will have with women. Thus the enemy’s endgame is to make women look less important. The book Fashion to Reign talks deeply about Jesus’s ministry that restores the status of women-kind in those days.Explaining why women are constantly shamed or lied to.
Today, even with feminism in its place. I still feel that we are still not on the right boat that Jesus wants us on. Society screams too much about self-love, self-care, and other self-help remedies to allow women to behave more victorious in their lives. Well, a little self care is good but overdoing it also puts us women in the wrong substitutes.
Look, we are not selfish by nature. Yes indeed, women carry a bigger sense of responsibility, we feel more, we think deeper than most guys. That’s how we are created. The enemy lies to make us feel smaller; less of ourselves. It deceives us to believe we are small. He likes to downsized of capability by stealing our one true identity in Christ - daughtership.
Personally, I see Eve as a strong woman. Even after being blamed for taking the fruit, she still stood by Adam, gave him a family. In modern days now, women are given more options to do deal with the same scenario. For one, divorce rates are soaring high. That’s because decisions are made hastily. We are not given enough time. I bet Eve knew she had all the time in the world to learn what forgiveness means. Just as the Father in heaven forgives her.
In modern society, a girl’s time is often measured by our prime according to systems and worldviews, rather than values and purpose.
Think about it, who actually says a woman becomes less productive after their maternity? Who sets the benchmark for how young we have to be married, or have children?
Did you know that data found that many men were suffering during their years as parents in their workplace too? But yet they do not seem less efficient? I don’t believe that.
Back to the curse that God has set for Adam, ‘he was to labor through his entire life’ (Gen 3:17-19) Well, guess man will only have one job; WORK DAMN HARD
In v20, Adam named his wife Eve (means living) because she would become the mother of all the living while the meaning of Adam means, man of the earth.
I laughed a little here.
Can you recognise your value as women God intended? You are so precious to God that He sent Jesus to reinstate us. To give us living meaning to our identity. We are much more than what the world says to be. Have a little more faith to believe that Christ gave His life for you so that you may experience FREEDOM.
This freedom is an encounter that will change your course of life forever.
If you have been the meek woman, too afraid of time lost, it is time to re-recognize your position in Christ. Take your rightful place as His beloved daughter and live up!
Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. Matthew 9:22
Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. Psalm 118:5
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17
