Reprogramming how I share

ː 2 MINUTES READ

As social media platforms evolve, pushing creative, or #smallbusinesses to the new title “content creator”. I cannot help but reconsider how I want to be valued in ten years’ time.

If you have noticed, I was actually changing my Instagram profile bio a couple of times. There was a period when I name a Digital Creator, listing keywords of “Procreate Tutorials” “Bespoke Artwork” etc. Then I realize, no, this is not what I want to be remembered for. I want to be remembered for the beautiful floristry I created. I want to be remembered as an artist.

I admit there is weight to my creative ego when people say, “Wow, I thought that was an actual watercolor work.” I am thrilled to be able to fulfill the fantasy of watercolor floristry digitally. Procreate indeed is a great platform for dreamers like me. The past two years of late nights trying to figure it out and learning skills from the people before me are all worthwhile.

And now I am ready to go the extra mile to help you value my artwork similar to the analog artists before Instagram, like visiting a gallery intentionally. In the slowness, I want to level up my experience to one that is infinite. After much thought, I have decided to reprogram how I share my #artwip. So instead of just IG, you’ll may to visit other ‘galleries’ to view my art.

First, to clarify, this is to ensure that my artwork and pricing, leads me to one goal - to own a sustainable community at SLC. I do not want to stumble too soon into the fatigue of over-sharing on social media. If I am sharing less, it means I am creating more and meeting people irl!

Am I making enough sense?

Well, over the past months, I have been surveying Instagram. Asking questions to help me understand what is required of me. I love that most of you followed because you find inspiration in my work and have been challenged to create. My intent is to impact change in my sphere of influence and this means pricing too! (I promised a write up in this area)

The need to change allows me to keep evolving so that I can increase abundantly and help you in your creative journey too. So in order to do all that in full focus, I need to give myself space to ideate and create. Right now, in SLC, I have expanded Bespoke services to categories like Wedding Collaterals and Branding needs. At the same time, dreaming with my existing students (Loving it the most!)

To my surprise, Procreate Tutorial Videos are thriving. With that, I’ve to relook at how I present my videos. A month ago, I slowed down with the #artwip videos and IGLive yet there are still so many asking for it. Happy I am but also this is the cause of my current decision as I can no longer produce only for Instagram.

Yes, I am diversifying, you’ll see me on different platforms like YouTueb where I host real-time / speed videos, TikTok, and XHS. Eventually, IG will be a place to engage outside of business things.

Finally, I believe that God will continue to bless me as long as I remain faithful to His word. There are ample testimonies in this area. God, the CEO of slowlivecreate has been the greatest Jireh.

So, what I am trying to show and tell us is that we are not required to work as content creators for Instagram. There are so many outlets that you can try and who knows; that could be your better presence rather than trying to spike up views in reels.

2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT

Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm me with every form of grace, so that I will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make me overflow with abundance in every good thing I do.

AMEN
