the unexpected

Every day of our lives includes the opportunity for us to be pleasantly surprised with glorious good news or blindsided with the pain of badå news. That's the nature of life.

For we live by faith, not by sight. \ 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV
For we live by believing and not by seeing. \ 2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT

Did God surprise you with a renewed friendship, a great opportunity, or a much-needed breakthrough? Was there a painful event that hit your life like a wave you did not see coming? We have not been called to control life, to endure life, or to barely make it in this life. Jesus came that we may know life and life more abundant.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. \ John 10:10

HOW DO WE WALK THE FAITH?

I guess it’s about being guided by the Holy Spirit; the faith giver. As a human, the free will to choose sometimes overrides the plans God has already set apart for us. God’s ability to do is unlimited, and one of the greatest rewards is to know God can still surprise us, even when we assume He did. But He is always not done yet!

There are so many occasions that I’ve surrendered my all to His ways, His higher thoughts. Though have to say, I fought through my limitation. Yet, the sweet part is how God will still fight back for me. As an artist, there are just too many doubting moments. It is so easy to fall into the enemy’s schemes.

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine on them. \ 2 Corinthians 4:4

Reflecting this year, God showed up consistently when I least expected. While piecing the puzzles behind people I’ve met, it’s incredible to know God’s way is truly mind-blowing. Interestingly, through His divine appointments, we meet people in the middle of their seasons. The challenge is to become extra aware of it.

Have you ever woke up to a voice that’ll nudge you to call someone? Maybe an old friend you have not talked to for ages. Then eventually, the person who picks up your call, brawl over an incident and sounded despair yet grateful that you called. Unexpected?

Or tried creating a piece of art but gave it away instead to bless someone, instead the receiver decided to return the blessing. My heart melts at these scenarios (true stories btw). Can I just convince you to try at least once; to expect the unexpected.

Cling onto the faith, and walking by it. Take steps, as far as the voice takes you. Even when we can’t see it (the results of your sales may be); but let us fully trust God to show up at His best time.

"Almighty God, please help me find peace in remembering the storm is not big to You.
Please help me choose to trust You today and always." - Christine Caine

Let’s aim high, look far into eternity. Whenever you’re doubting the situation you’re in, pray it away and claim onto His promises.

Be strong and courageous.
Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. \ Deuteronomy 31:6-8
